About Viking Sun
Luxury Viking Ocean Cruises added the beautiful and elegant 47,800-ton, 930-guest Viking Sun to its fleet in October 2017, making her the fourth of its expanding fleet. Designed for ultimate comfort, she offers a travel experience in ultimate luxury. Special itineraries were created to allow maximum time in each port with some late evenings or overnights so guests may experience evening performances or various local nightlife.
Viking's "Inclusive Cruising" offers shore excursions in each port of call, all onboard meals, port charges and government taxes. Guests also enjoy many complimentary amenities such as beer and wine with lunch and dinner, premium dining reservations, Wi-Fi, self-service laundry, access to the Thermal Suite at the spa and 24/7room service.
Discerning travelers and first time cruisers will feel at home in the inviting warm ambiance onboard. Large windows and skylights add to an airy open atmosphere. A wraparound Promenade Deck is reminiscent of ocean liners of the past and just one highlight of the luxury ship is a spectacular glass-backed infinity pool off the stern, boasting unobstructed views, affording guests the unique feeling of swimming "surrounded by their destination" for an unforgettable feeling.
As the social hub of Viking Sun, the atrium is at the center of what is known as the "living room," a multipurpose space with seating areas with comfortable chairs, sofas and bookshelves. Soak up the sun at the main pool, complete with a glass magrodome that can be closed during inclement weather. Adjacent to the main pool area, is a relaxing airy venue with elegant furnishings where you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea accompanied by a harpist or read a bestseller from the library.
